An artist statement feels like a very pretentious piece of writing to tackle. So I will keep it simple:

 

I create art because it makes me feel alive, and I want to help you feel alive too.

 

The hard truth – the rude secret that whispers to you at 3:00 a.m. when you can’t sleep – is that many of us (maybe even you) are not really living with aliveness. We are living distracted. We are numbed out, stressed out, and worn out. 

 

My hope is that something I create within the alchemy of color, texture and luminosity, inspires you to pause…take notice…and awaken. At its best, perhaps one of my works becomes a mirror – connecting you to something inside yourself that feels alive, soul-full and seen.

 

As an evolving artist after decades in marketing and brand, I work primarily in acrylic, mixed media, watercolor and digital art. I am currently building a substantial body of work, but I do accept limited, commission opportunities for custom pet portraits.
